Most clients enter the world of Botox seeking the mother of all neurotoxins known as Botox. However, Botox is not the only facial wrinkle relaxer on the market. Botulism Toxin Type A has a few different brands available to us. Botox, Xeomin, Dysport and the newest member to the family, Jeuveau.
So, why did I choose Xeomin for my clients at Newberg Aesthetics? I will say that a lot of thought and personal research went into picking what I think to be the best neurotoxin on the market. Someday I may add another form of Botox to my Newberg practice, but this decision will be tailored to how my clients are responding to their injections and overall longevity and satisfaction of the product.
Xeomin is cutely called ¨Naked Botox¨ because it is free of unnecessary proteins that do not play an active role in treatment, which likely allows the product to take affect sooner. My experience has been that Xeomin can start relaxing facial lines as soon as 3-4 days and last just as long (if not longer) than other Botox brands on the market. Another factor that I appreciate about Xeomin is that it is manufactured in Germany, where strict and enforced drug regulations are in place.
Lastly, but probably least importantly two legends of Hollywood that I think let beauty speak for itself have endorsed Xeomin. Christie Brinkley and Gwyneth Paltrow, in my very unbiased opinion Christie and Gwyneth are timeless icons and have put their names and stamps of approval on Xeomin. I do not look at pictures of either of these celebrities and think to myself- ¨Oh dear they have had too much Botox, or Gosh, they are unrecognizable from how they looked 20 years ago.¨
